AT&T Indicates "Carrier Flight" not an Issue for iPhone Users
AT&T posted their Q1 2011 earnings. In sifting through the data points regarding mobile, AT&T indicates that “iPhone subscriber churn unchanged year over year”. This seems to indicate that customers are not leaving AT&T en masse for Verizon as was predicted by many analysts.
AT&T sold a first quarter record 5.5 million smartphones. They activated 3.6 million iPhones in the same quarter, with 23% of those activations being new AT&T subscribers. It would be interesting to know what type of iPhones were being activated, as AT&T as been heavily promoting the 3gs.
