Google Maps 2.0 for iOS Launches With iPad Support and Indoor Maps
A week after launching the new version of Google Maps for Android, Google has launched a new version of the app for iOS devices, including a dedicated tablet design. Google Maps for iOS 2.0 features turn-by-turn navigation, public transportation info, live incident reports and biking directions and navigation.
Indoor maps with walking directions are also available in certain locations, such as malls, airports and transit stations.
Explore is a feature that lets users visually browse and discover new places without actually typing a query.
Finally, Reviews and Zagat integration lets users read reviews or rate points of interests such as restaurants and cafes. Google Maps also displays offers from national brands, such as Michael’s and BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse.
As far as the newly optimized iPad version goes, it has all the features listed above, including Street View, only on a bigger screen.
