The article focuses on the key reasons why the QSR industry focuses on mobile ordering innovations, highlighting three main topics: (1) the evolution of ordering ahead, as first innovated by the founders of In-N-Out Burger with the drive-through; (2) the landscape of order ahead in 2017, which has a lot to do with your smartphone; and (3) the impacts mobile order ahead has on revenue in today’s crowded QSR environment.
Overall, convenience is the primary driver that has always forced QSR establishments, from fast food restaurants to coffee shops, to adopt order ahead solutions. As we look at companies like Starbucks and what they can do (and how well they can perform) with a significant investment in its in-app, mobile order ahead functionality, it’s no wonder why every major chain and local SMB are investing in these solutions.
